Christmas Reflection: Mary as You Never Knew Her

We look forward to enjoying a wonderful breakfast together and a chance to hear from Elaine Phillips who is a biblical scholar and a gracious woman of God. A gifted teacher, Elaine makes the Scripture come alive. You will never think of Mary in quite the same way again. We hope you can join us for this holiday event. In fact, this would be a great time to invite a friend or family member.

Because we anticipate this breakfast may be popular, we recommend that you email us. Please provide your name and let us know if you are bringing others so we can know the number of folks attending.

Senior Book Club: Get Acquainted!

**SENIOR BOOK CLUB UPDATE**

As with many good things, we may have “jumped the gun” in dedicating our first meeting to a book, rather than an opportunity to get to know each other. We are now proposing that you come to this first meeting with a book you would like to suggest for us to read and be prepared to give a short overview of what it is about. We will then vote on the first six books we will read and start off our first actual book discussion in January. I will prepare questions for you to use as you read in advance of the reading and get them to you.

So, to be clear, we will get acquainted, determine what books we will read and enjoy some refreshments.

If anyone read The Screwtape Letters and wants to meet to discuss it, I am more than happy to do that on an additional date. I have read it and am always ready to discuss a good book.

In order that we have the right number of chairs and refreshments, would you please drop me a note and let me know you are coming. I am looking forward to this!

Fall Party

Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 21 and plan to join us for food, fellowship, and some competitive bidding to raise money for our students attending Snow Camp this winter. Contact Susan Marsh (603.978.8213) if you can help with event planning, or fill out a bulletin insert card to let us know if you plan to attend and/or how you can help.

The Silent Auction happens during the Fall Party and raises money to send youth to Snow Camp. Kids will be auctioning services like babysitting, car washing, and yard work. You can donate items for auction such as gift baskets, homemade jellies and jams, pie, cake, craft items, services, gift cards, etc.

Attention all youth grades 8-12!

Are you considering attending Snow Camp this winter? Help offset your cost by participating in the silent auction at the Fall Party. Bring your donated item(s) or service(s) downstairs before the 10:00am worship service starts.
