BeFree Alton Family Letter (February)

Hello BeFree,

Every two months the elders and I write a “Family Letter” to share about what’s happening here at BeFree. Here is a quick look at what’s coming in the next few months.

  • Membership – We believe membership is a biblically faithful way for all believers to connect to a clearly defined local church body for the purpose of mutual encouragement, intentional discipleship, accountability and shepherding by leaders. If you are interested in becoming a member, but missed the first meeting this morning (Feb 3rd), we invite you to come to the second membership meeting next week. We would be happy to meet with you individually to go over what you missed in the first meeting. Hope to see you there!

  • Men’s Faith & Work Event – This Tuesday (February 5th), men from all four BeFree campuses will be gathering at Bad Labs (460 High St, Somersworth, NH) from 7:30-9:30 pm. This event will be a conversation about faith and work and will be a great time for men across the multisite to build relationships with each other. We hope you can make it!

  • Women’s Bible Study – In March, our women’s ministry will be offering a four-week study on the book of Philippians. Due to the different schedules of the women in our church, the study will be offered Thursdays and Saturdays. Keep your ears open for more information.

  • Deep Freeze – On March 1st-3rd, our youth group will travel to Camp Berea for Deep Freeze. This is a weekend packed with fun, fellowship and teaching that will encourage and equip our youth to follow Jesus Christ. If you have not yet signed up, please contact Michael Joy at mj@mjcpm.com.

  • Québec Prayer Trip – John William Barnard will be leading a prayer mission trip to Québec next weekend (Feb. 8-10th). It’s still not too late to join. If you’re interested, please contact John William at johnbarnard87@gmail.com.

  • Sledding Party – On the evening of Sunday March 10th, we will gather at Camp Brookwoods for our annual sledding party. This party has become a yearly tradition where we gather for fun and fellowship. We hope you will put this on your calendar and invite your friends!

While we are excited for all these things, we remember that our goal as a church family is not ultimately to organize events, programs and meetings, but to glorify God by loving him, loving others and making disciples. Our prayer is that these upcoming events would help our church family work toward accomplishing this goal.

On behalf of the elders and myself,

Ben Ruhl, Pastor of BeFree Alton
