Tuesday, April 19: Colossians 3:1-4
Those who have placed their faith in Jesus and become a follower of His have been "raised with Christ." Our old life of sin and self-rule died with Jesus on the cross and is replaced with the eternal life of Jesus working in us. Since we have been raised with Christ, how are we to live differently now?
Wednesday, April 20: Colossians 3:5-11
Following Jesus involves death and resurrection. It is not only about adding Jesus to our lives, but removing what is not of Jesus from our lives. We must remember that we don't remove the bad stuff so that God will accept us. We CAN put to death the sin because Jesus has already accepted us.
Thursday, April 21: Colossians 3:12-17
Putting sin to death in our lives is a process of displacement. Sin can't be removed by itself, only displaced by something greater. Christian growth is about God displacing our sin with the fruit of His Spirit. What kind of character traits listed here do you see God currently developing in your life? What does God want you to do to cooperate with the work He is doing?
Friday, April 22: Colossians 3:18-4:1
