Family Discipleship Resources for Parents

As parents, our primary role is to make disciples of our kids. We should be actively engaged in helping our kids grow to believe the Gospel, as well as think and act in ways that brings glory to God. The following resources are meant to help parents do just that. The thought of discipling your kids can sound daunting. Take some time to look through the following resources as you consider what it might look like for you to intentionally disciple your kids.

Story Bibles

A good story Bible is a great tool for discipling your kids. There are some today that are not just well written, but visually stunning. We recommend the following:

• Book: The Biggest Story - An excellently written, visually stunning retelling of the overarching story of the Bible. Also check out the 500+ page extended version of this book.

• Book: Pilgrim’s Progress - Pilgrim’s Progress is a classic Christian book that has sold more copies than any other book in world history after the Bible. Here are two modern illustrated versions for kids:

• Book: Unfolding Grace for Kids - Unfolding Grace for Kids is the kid version of Unfolding Grace that offers 40 guided readings through the word of God. Not only is it excellently illustrated, but it offers an excellent way to expose kids to the overarching story of the Bible be reading the actual words of the Bible.

• Series: Tales that Tell the Truth - These are some of the highest quality picture books for kids being made today. They are theologically solid and beautifully illustrated. Here are some of our favorites:

• Ministry: Tiny Theologians - Tiny Theologians is an organization that creates amazing resources for family discipleship. I particularly recommend the ABC Cards. These cards are great tools for parents to use to help introduce their kids to the deep things of God. we might learn something ourselves in the process.

• Book: Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing - 101 beautifully illustrated short devotionals for parents to read with their kids… or enjoy on their own.
